We measured oxidative stress in pigs with acute liver failure to verify the effectiveness of an artificial liver (spheroid reservoir bioartificial liver (SRBAL)). This device is intended to replace a diseased liver temporarily, extra-corporeally with hepatocyte cells.
This collaboration was made with the team of Dr. Nyberg, whose lab is located at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA.
