Our research group is interested in understanding the neurological complications associated with liver disease, or more specifically hepatic encephalopathy. The lab is directed by Dr. Christopher F. Rose and by Dre Chantal Bémeur. Our graduate students are enrolled at Université de Montréal.
Our lab is interested in hepatic encephalopathy and lactic acidosis.
Our aims is to understand pathogenesis at the cellular and molecular level with our in vitro and animal models.
We are interested in the nutritional status of patients with cirrhosis and hepatic encephalopathy.
We are searching and testing different therapeutics strategies for hepatic encephalopathy to help suffering patients.
We currently have several clinical research projects for which recruitment is underway.

We are located in downtown Montreal (Quebec, Canada) at the pavillon R, as part of the Centre de Recherche du Centre Hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CRCHUM). Since 2013, we are moved in the new building during the first phase of construction of the new CHUM, which will be completed in 2020.
